Job Description POSITION SUMMARY A fast-growing Independent Medical Examination office is seeking a poised, articulate and highly organized individual to work with our team as a part time Medical Records Assistant. This is a family owned business where team members contributions are highly valued and hard work recognized. The ideal candidate will have had previous work in either a medical office, have exceptional attention to detail (both written and verbal), be extremely detailed oriented, feel comfortable managing simultaneous projects and place a high value on customer service. Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are a must. Also, previous employment or association with Independent Medical Examination (IME) companies is very beneficial. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Organizing large files of medical records in chronological order Comparing records for duplicates Hole punching and tabbing large files and placing in binders for physicians to take to court Highlighting relevant dates Organizing legal documents Analyzing records to find relevant information Determining relevant records to the file Checking for accuracy and completeness Adhere to strict deadlines Assist with printing and logging in medical records received Handle sensitive and confidential documents and information Utilize Web based applications to track work in progress Keep meticulous documentation of multiple files Complete projects as directed which are related to the growth and improvement of the clinic MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) High School degree or higher Experience: 2+ years of full time office experience or ability to show proficiency in the following qualifications Clear and neat handwriting Ability to manage a high work volume, work rapidly and with accuracy Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills High degree of accuracy with time sensitive, detailed information Ability to multi-task Computer & Office Equipment: MS Word, Excel and Outlook, 10 key, and using Web based applications. Familiar with operation and maintenance of printers, scanners and FAX machines Organizational Skills: timely, extreme attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Must be able to follow instructions, ask questions, and maintain routine follow-up Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and work closely under direct supervisor Must be flexible and able to adapt to individualized preferences for physicians & clients Verifiable work experience Pass a background check and drug screening PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds Flexible working hours, typical schedule is Mon-Fri 11:30-5:30 Must be comfortable working individually Second story office with an elevator in the building COMPENSATION Hourly compensation based on experience, Eligible for paid sick and vacation time immediately and 401k after probationary period
