Design Services Digital Loop Carrier Installation/Test and Turn:up
Job Description 13;
:Install or repair circuits, connects equipment to inside cable and makes cross connection in remote terminals, cross boxes and at the customer premise.
:Performs installation and repair of POTS, HSI, GPON, IP Connect and Ethernet services.
:Conducts tests associated with the installation, repair, turn:up of designed circuits that include ISDN, DS0 : analog and digital, DS1, DS3 and optical circuits.
:Performs test, turn:up, and repair of Pair Gain and Optical systems.
:Resolves customer issues and problems; insure customer satisfaction; and insures service is working to specifications before closing job.
:Utilizes various testing devices such as the TB2000, TB6000, HST3000, OTDR, Light Meter/Source, Volt:Ohm:Meter, 965DSP, Sidekick, Transmission Measuring Sets, and other metallic measuring devices.
:Locates, splice, repairs and rearranges cable and cable conductors in building and aerial or buried plant.
:Locates optical fiber failures, fusion splice repairs as required to provide timely restoration for customer base.
:Performs trouble isolation of transport, customer and company communications components, cable and infrastructure from the customers premise up to and including the central office.
:Uses WFA and TIRKS to read Word documents.
:Reads engineering prints and diagrams.
:Interfaces with other work groups to ensure that committed service test dates and times are met, and to test the integrity of service prior to customer release.
:Works directly with customers to insure that services and applications are working properly and are in conformance to specifications.
:Performs pre:survey to determine availability of equipment and facilities, to pretest circuits to ensure that conditioning requirements are met, and to review with customer work specified in the work order and the possibilities of utilizing existing facilities for upgrading/customizing services.
:Ability to utilize electronic devices such as smart phones and laptop computers to option electronic systems, utilize applications and to test and install individual services.
:Works independently with minimal or no supervision.
:Observe all safety rules and regulations.
:Participate consistently in YouCan sales program.
:May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. 13;
:At least six (6) months of experience within the last five years installing and repairing:
:design services and Hi Cap, EOCU and EODS1 equipment for business customers.
:circuits, connecting equipment to inside cable and making cross connections in remote terminals, cross boxes and at the customer premise.
: IP Connect, and Ethernet services.
:At least six (6) months of experience within the last five years conducting tests associated with the installation, repair, and turn:up of designed circuits that include ISDN, DS0 : analog and digital, DS1, DS3 and optical circuits.
:Experience maintaining/repairing and testing copper cable and/or fiber optic cable in an underground, aerial, or buried environment.
:Experience working with Ethernet type services and associated CPE (Customer Provided Equipment).
:Experience installing:maintaining Cisco 3750 and Ciena equipment, Adtran 1148 and 1248 DSLAM equipment
:Basic electricity knowledge
