Director of Nursing (Academic Administrator/Ranked Faculty) Concordia University - Portland is seeking a dynamic, strategic leader to oversee the university's Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing program. This position is a ranked faculty position in the College of Health and Human Services. The Director of Nursing is responsible for administering the university's Accelerated Bachelors' of Science in Nursing (ABSN) degree program, continuously scanning his/her professional field and program standards to improve the programs' curriculum based on these findings and other matters as assigned in accordance with the mission and values of the university. The Director of Nursing holds supervisory responsibilities for ABSN clinical, lab and didactic nursing faculty (full-time and adjunct) and ensures alignment with assigned employees from partner agencies. Qualified candidates will possess the following: Earned Doctoral degree in Nursing or Education. Earned Master's degree in Nursing. Current licensure as a registered nurse in Oregon. 5+ years of nursing experience in a clinical, patient care environment. Educational/instructional experience equivalent to full professor status in an accredited institution of higher education. 3+ years of management experience in higher education. Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Nursing, the Director of Nursing will: a. Provide leadership to the ongoing development and implementation of Concordia University's Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) degree program. b. Ensure that Concordia University's Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs meets the requirements and standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies, including, but not limited to, the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). c. Develop partnerships with community health care providers and agencies. d. Develop and maintain clinical and business partnerships including, but not limited to, Orbis Educational Partners. e. Develops and maintains the relationship between the ABSN Program and the university, including, but not limited to, acting as liaison with campus academic programs, departments and administrators. f. Serves on university committees when applicable. g. Participates in on going professional development activities that facilitate expertise in the areas of administration, teaching and maintenance of nursing competence. h. Applies and communicates accurately Nursing program and university policies and procedures. i. Acts as a representative of the ABSN Program to nursing applicants, students, alumni, potential faculty, clinical partners and the community. j. Assists in publicizing and disseminating information about the ABSN program. k. Designs and monitors professional development plans for ABSN faculty and staff. l. Assures that ABSN master syllabi utilizing competencies, clear objectives, and current instructional materials are up to date. m. Measures ABSN student attainment of program competencies and outcomes and reports these to the Associate Dean for Nursing. n. Assists the Associate Dean for Nursing with annual reports for OSBN, CCNE, and NWCCU and with development of self-study documents. o. Collaborates with ABSN faculty and staff to recruit, orient, council and retain nursing students. Provide Management and Supervision to ABSN Faculty: a. Recruits, selects, hires, and mentors PT nursing faculty and staff that serve in the ABSN program in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Nursing. b. Ensures annual evaluation of ABSN faculty and staff and makes recommendations to the Associate Dean for nursing for promotion and retention. c. Oversees the allocation of ABSN faculty workloads. Work collaboratively with the Dean of CHHS, Associate Dean, faculty, staff, and students to advance the mission and academic excellence of the college in accordance with the mission, values and vision of CU.
