Job Number: 2399 Description Job Title: Collaboration Manager Location: Portland, OR Terms: Full-time, Direct hire Summary: The client, a recognized leader in the transportation/Logistics industry, seeks a dynamic Collaboration Manager to champion ownership of all technologies related to collaborative tools and unstructured data. (email, SharePoint, instant messaging, content management, desktop video, and desktop sharing) This Collaboration Manager will become an integral part of our IT team that provides internal consulting to business leaders on optimum use of collaborative tools. Play a vital role by providing the vision, roadmap, design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise solutions related to these tools. Additionally, this Collaboration Manager works directly with business leaders, peer IT managers, vendors, related development teams and other stakeholders. Responsibilities also include project and departmental budgeting, department initiatives (process improvements), contract negotiations and team and staff development. Essential Functions: Collaborate with the business and IT teams in the development of product strategies, roadmap, requirements and initiatives that support internal client?s objectives. Build and maintain relationships with business managers and IT team members. Monitors technology evolution for technologies within job scope. Provides internal consulting to the organization to maximize the use of collaboration tools. Educate key stakeholders in the effective use of collaboration tools to improve business processes/effectiveness. Actively leads developing/selecting solutions, assessing project viability, and estimating new work effort. Facilitate and coordinate development, tools/application upgrades, and system testing with Infrastructure and outside vendors. Lead migrations and upgrades to tools within job scope. Manage project teams for task assignments, project plans, methodology, project tracking, status reporting, budgeting, and issue resolution. Manage the suppliers and service providers of the tools. Develop and manage department budget, authorize expenditures, control and monitor workforce allocation and resources, and oversee baseline project plans. Monitor and contribute to the organizations competitive edge by developing and executing best in class strategies. Develop direct reports to increase bench strength and flexibility of the team. Ensure that employees receive appropriate training and resources to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently. Handle all management level responsibilities for staff, including performance reviews, employee development, hiring, firing, coaching and counseling. Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of all staff of company goals and objectives and compliance to all applicable employment policies. Lead by example and perform in accordance with the he clients Core Values and actively manage teams in support of the core values. QualificationsQualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor?s degree in computer science or related field generally required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience. 10 years of cross functional business experience including IT solutions development, technical project management, business analysis, accounting and budgeting, customer relationships and vendor management. 7years experience managing professional staff and managing customer expectations. Deep expertise in Collaboration and Productivity tool suites. Experience managing and governing mainstream collaboration tool suites for a large enterprise. Experience with Microsoft Collaboration Suite (SharePoint, Outlook, Office Communicator, etc.) highly desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal senior management. Strong active listening, facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to establish strong business relationships and work effectively with senior business and client contacts. Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people. Solid knowledge of IT software development methodologies, environments, processes, and tools within job scope. Strong knowledge of Lean practices, concepts and techniques. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies. Strong project and time management skills and prior experience managing customer expectations. Ability to thrive and contribute in a cross functional environment with multiple priorities. Ability to lead and manage professional staff to produce high quality results on time and within budget.
