We’re one of the only agencies in Clark County to offer daily, affordable after-school and summer programs, with a special focus on children in underserved neighborhoods.

Our Clubs provide a stable, nurturing environment that supports academic success, healthy lifestyles, and responsible citizenship. We keep our membership fee low so that every child can afford to belong. Today we have six elementary Clubs and two teen sites in the heart of the highest-need neighborhoods in Clark County. We will serve nearly 2,800 members this year with more than 670 attending on any given day.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Communications & Events Manager will work with the Executive Director and staff members to plan and execute four major fundraising events for the organization annually, as well as manage online and direct mail appeals, monitoring progress against goals. This position also supports the Executive Director and Board members in cultivating and soliciting individual, corporate and other gifts. Additional responsibilities include updating website content, social media platforms, managing public/media relations, and event production for our Clubs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Special Events
• Collaborate with Events Committee and staff to plan and produce annual fundraising events - Toast for Teens, Evening Event, Uncorked for Kids, and Youth Partnership Luncheon - and other special events as needed
• Organize and oversee logistics, timelines, vendors and venues, and act as main point of contact for all fundraising events
• Create content, design and produce all event-related promotional materials, including invitations, programs and other collateral
• Liaison for all vendors and contractors
• Manage audio/visual elements for event production
• Speechwriting/coaching for event speakers
• Procure and manage volunteers, as necessary
• Collaborate with Executive Director/Director of Resource Development to ensure maximum corporate sponsorship
• Actively support auction item procurement, collection, and tracking
• Manage on-site production and clean-up for events, as necessary
• Manage event budgets and provide post-event outcomes reporting
• Utilize donor database to track fundraising income and compile status/variance reports
• Recognize contributions with acknowledgment letters and other special recognition
• Coordinate additional campaigns, including Give More 24 and annual holiday appeal

• Design and develop public relations documents for use in the promotion of fundraising, special events and education of the public, in collaboration with the Director of Resource Development
• Monitor and manage BGCSW’s online presence, including but not limited to:
o Creating and regularly updating website content
o Monitoring and posting to BGCSW’s Facebook page and other social media platforms
o Overall communication with our organization’s stakeholders, including families, donors, and partnering organizations
o Keeping up-to-date on emerging technology and design

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
• A minimum of two years work experience at a Boys & Girls Club or similar not-for-profit organization, with an emphasis on fundraising, marketing, management, budgeting, community and public relations
• Demonstrated project management skills and/or event planning
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Social media and technology proficient, including donor database
