Position Title: Human Resources & Administrative Support Manager
Reports To: Associate Director
Duration: Regular Position
Hours: 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $40,000 to $52,000 plus benefits: generous 90% employer-paid medical, dental, vision and naturopathic health insurance, 401K plan, subsidized transit pass, cell phone credit, professional development opportunities, paid time off starting at three weeks per year, seven paid holidays annually, and flexible family-friendly schedule.

About the Position:
APANO is looking for a detail-oriented, highly-organized and support-focused individual to lead APANO’s Administrative Support team and Human Resources program. We envision the position to be heavily logistics-focused, with expectation to supervise meeting the day-to-day administrative needs of a growing, culturally-specific, community-based non-profit organization. The Human Resources & Administrative Support Manager provides direct support to the Executive Director, and is responsible for leading the team that supports all program & office operations, overseeing facilities scheduling & maintenance, supporting major event planning & execution, human resources & benefits management, and providing assistance to other projects and/or programs as needed. This individual will join a growing, seasoned team of member-leaders and staff working to win concrete change in the lives of Asian and Pacific Islanders in Oregon, and the larger world.

Our ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter, skilled at managing multiple projects, and an innovative support professional who can coordinate and work with multiple staff to accomplish shared goals. This position will supervise 1-2 other staff members. The Human Resources & Administrative Support Manager is employed by both APANO and APANO Communities United Fund, and reports to the Associate Director.

Position Responsibilities:
20% Executive Assistant
Function as Executive Assistant to the Executive Director including scheduling, record keeping of sensitive documents, event planning & support, risk management, etc.; Support Board of Directors as needed.
Provide guidance and direct administrative support to fiscally sponsored groups and partner organizations as requested.
50% Human Resources Manager
Create and maintain all Human Resources processes and procedures, including hiring, onboarding, orientation, evaluation, professional development, and termination.
As Benefits Manager, maintain relationships with current vendors, innovate new benefits offerings, and provide customer service to staff who need assistance in accessing benefits.
Address and mitigate risk throughout the organization; function as liaison with insurance companies
30% Office & Support Manager
Drive initiatives in the support team and organizationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence by developing, implementing, and maintaining effective & efficient administrative systems, program support systems, and facilities systems.
Contribute to events logistics: venue, catering, A/V services, sponsorships, speakers, travel, and registration
Supervise support team, including Operations Coordinator, Facilities Custodian, IT Project Manager, and other contractors as needed.

Qualifications:
The Human Resources & Administrative Support Manager will have/be:
3 years demonstrated experience in administrative support; 1 year minimum supervisory experience; 1 year minimum Human Resources Generalist experience and/or equivalent education
Responsible, proactive, and pragmatic attitude
Flexibility to adjust to dynamic work environment
Great attention to detail, with a passion for order and organization
Excellent writing and editing skills
Exceedingly computer literate, including PC & Mac, GSuite systems, spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, social media, & web.
Proficiency with Salsa CRM or similar CRM software
Sufficient English proficiency, as this position communicates regularly in written and spoken English
Deep commitment to and vision for APANO’s mission and strategic plan, including an understanding of the role of grassroots community organizing in social change and movement building.
Respect for and demonstrated experience working with Asian and Pacific Islander activists, and a deep understanding of issues affecting Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Preferred, but not required:
Ability to speak conversational Vietnamese, Korean, Mandarin or Cantonese
Experience with Quickbooks, Slack, and/or Zenefits
Have and maintain current drivers’ license and access to personal automobile or other vehicle
