The Technical Manager will lead the plant Maintenance and Engineering team (Technical team) and provide input to support all strategic, operational and policy aspects of the Portland plant in the areas of safety, quality, performance, management, and organizational.
:Coordinate and lead multi:functional teams within Project Meetings.
:Track and manage Capital and Project Expense.
:Authorize PO (Purchase Orders) creation for Capital Projects.
:Create, design and evaluate call for Tender documents.
:Edit and advise on Dannon Processing Standards and Danone Engineering Worldwide Standards. Serve as Technical Alignment Leader during bidding processes for contracts.
:Review and evaluate Capital Projects Contracts.
:Act as the Plants point of contact for Engineering Projects.
:Build capabilities within Engineering Team.
:Act as the skill mentor for Danone Engineer Standards (through Danone Engineering Worldwide Standards).
:Coordinate processing, packaging, utilities, and build scope of work. Responsible for Plants CAPEX Budget. Attend Industrial Project Weekly Review and Weekly Engineering Key Projects/Action Plan.
:Directly manage three (3) employees; utilities engineer, maintenance supervisor, parts and inventory
The ideal candidate will have:
:A Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
:5 years project engineering/ leadership in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Prior experience in Food/Beverage manufacturing setting, preferred.
:Excellent interpersonal skills
:Experience with development of Call for Tender documents including, Technical Specifications, Commercial Specifications and Standards.
:Knowledge on the following:
:Design, Calculation, Implementation and Start Up of CIP (Clean in Place) Systems.
:Milk chemistry and milk processing using centrifugal separators.
:Condensed Milk Process; Process Instrumentation for Milk Intake, Milk Storage, Milk Standardization and Homogenization, Milk Pasteurization and Fermentation; and Fermented Products Culture dosing.
:The design, calculation and evaluation of Ultra Clean Tanks Manufacturing; Global Market for Dairy Fresh Products; and Fruit Preparation Manufacturing experience.
:Utility/facilities/building and grounds management with large ammonia refrigeration systems.
