POSITION: Bakery Cafe Server SALARY: Hourly + tips DOE BENEFITS: Comp Shift Drinks/Meals; 25% off all purchases; Sick Time DEPARTMENT: Back to Eden Bakery Cafe REPORTS TO: General Manager and/or Customer Service Manager HOURS: We will be hiring a variety of positions ranging from 20-40hours per week including weekends. You may be required to work extra hours and/or days on an irregular basis due to unforeseen circumstances, emergencies and/or special events. REVIEWS/RAISES: You will receive a three week performance only evaluation. You will then receive salary and performance evaluations at 6 months and 1 year. After that, evaluations will occur yearly on or near your start date anniversary. Salary review will be based on details covered in the reviews and overall company financial health.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position contributes to Back to Eden''s success by assisting the management team in executing Cafe sales and operational goals. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining the "Back to Eden Experience" for our guests. The associate is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Back to Eden''s high standards and guiding principles. The position focuses on table service for dine-in customers, as well as counter service for to-go orders, and drink preparation, including espresso and alcohol.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: -Models a "customer comes first" attitude and delivers legendary customer service. -Provides each guest with an authentically and memorable Back to Eden experience. -Focuses on providing stellar table service & maintaining an efficient work environment. -Demonstrates the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. -Shows an ability to see the big picture as well as focus in on the details, planning ahead to best serve all customers. -Proactively assists coworkers and solicits help to collectively succeed. -Demonstrates and disseminates deep knowledge of the company's product & mission. -Responds to customer feedback and inquiries with the aim of satisfying in integrity. -Views their role in the storefront as a "temple keeper" maintaining sacred space. -Executes action plans that meet sales, operational and organizational objectives. -Demonstrates a commitment to promoting the company's vision, values, and goals. -Maintains and models a calm exterior presence at all times regardless of circumstance. -Proactively communicates needs, issues, and ideas to the management team. -Ensures that all food items are properly stored, labeled and rotated at all times. -Maintains a safe and sanitary workspace according to health code and company standards. -Performs various cleaning/maintenance projects as assigned by management. -Any other duties assigned by the management team.


EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years table service experience. Barista experience and coffee knowledge strongly preferred. Alcohol handling experience preferred. Familiarity with vegan and/or gluten-free cooking/baking is a strong bonus.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS: -Ability to work with a small team to provide top quality table service to dine-in customers, effectively handle to go orders, and perform all work duties efficiently. -Ability to deliver customer service that meets or exceeds customer expectations. -Ability to use discretion and sensitivity when providing feedback/direction to others. -Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume. -Ability to stay busy and effective during slower periods. -Ability to demonstrate respect and understanding for all participants. -Ability to receive and resolve customer/co-workers concerns with grace and action. -Ability to actively listen and approach all conflicts with non-violent communication. -Ability to communicate and execute management directives. -Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. -Strong knowledge of restaurant/cafe environments and strategies for success. -Strong money handling and computational skills. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Strong team-building and problem solving skills. -Passion for our brand and products.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or GED equivalent; valid Oregon State Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe certification; valid OLCC permit; basic computer literacy and email accessibility.
