Handmade NW Brings Quality Handmade Goods to Portland’s Doorstep!

Handmade NW is set to launch a robust holiday event schedule. With three downtown shows, one formal event, and more than 200 regional vendors, Handmade NW brings quality handmade goods to Portland’s doorstep this holiday season. This year, Handmade NW partners with P:ear, Women’s Crisis Line and OHSU Heart Health Institute as benefactors of select shows.
The scheduled events serve to support an economy of crafters and artisans who have committed to bringing quality handmade goods to our community. The recipient of the handmade gift receives something that is one-of-a-kind, and made with care and attention that can be seen and touched. It is the result of skill and craftsmanship that is absent in the world of large-scale manufacturing. Handmade NW encourages all to support the local economy by buying local handmade gifts this holiday.

Handmade NW 2009 HOLIDAY EVENTS!
WHAT: The Portland Arts Bazaar – p:ear & Women’s Crisis Line
WHEN: Sunday, November 29 :: 11 am – 6 pm
WHERE: Pioneer Courthouse Square :: 701 SW Sixth Ave.

DETAILS: This year, Handmade NW and the Portland Arts Bazaar have united in a handmade holiday celebration featuring a plethora of goodies made by local artisans. Traditionally the busiest shopping weekend of the season, the Portland Arts Bazaar is excited to offer downtown shoppers unique handmade gift options at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Ideally located in the heart of downtown, some of Portland’s best artisans gather to bring one-of-a-kind toys, clothes, home décor and more to the holiday festivities of the Square.

WHAT: Formal Holiday Artisans Fair – p:ear mentoring
WHEN: Sunday, December 6 :: 11 am – 6 pm
WHERE: Chelsea Ballroom :: SE Hawthorne & 9th St.
DETAILS: An elegant holiday shopping experience with local handcrafted wares in a stunning 1920's historic ballroom! Free goodie bags to the first 150 customers, live classical music, gift wrapping table and more!

WHAT: OHSU Heart Research Center Holiday Bazaar – benefiting the Heart Research Center
WHEN: Tuesday, Dec. 8 :: 3 pm – 6 pm :: Wednesday & Thursday, Dec. 9 & 10 :: 10 am – 6 pm
WHERE: Oregon Health Science University BICC Gallery :: 3181 SW Sam Jackson Park Road
DETAILS: In its second year, this event takes place in the beautiful BICC Gallery at OHSU. The three-day event rotates artisans from day-to-day offering shoppers unique items throughout.

About Handmade NW, LLC:
Founded in 2008, Handmade NW (HMNW) facilitates events for local and regional artisans and crafters. The events showcase the significant talent behind the handmade crafts of the region, and provide a unique shopping experience where shoppers can select from a number of independently designed goods. It is HMNW policy that the artisans themselves vend their wares. Their events serve to facilitate face-to-face meetings between the general public and the artisans who make local handmade goods.

Why you should come

2009 has been a difficult year, and 2010 isn't likely to be any easier. For many of us and those closest to us, this recession has created a crisis of confidence: not knowing if we can find ways to thrive and not knowing how.

Can you rest in the knowledge that you'll generate high-integrity value no matter what is going on around you? Marsha Shenk provides new perspectives, skills, and practices based on a fresh synthesis of Business Anthropology, Neuroscience, and the Martial Arts.

In this all-day seminar, you'll practice the 6 Master Moves that make it feel easy and natural and you'll learn to:
- Apply new skills to your current work life
- Build more valuable exchanges
- Distinguish where to invest your energy, and how best to do so

You'll leave with a different interpretation of your challenges in this recession and see that you bring a lot to the game. You may not master these techniques in one day, but you'll see the map, apply it, and take several practice steps.

How Pleased Are You With Your Cable, Satellite, Phone or Internet Provder?

posted: November 22, 2009, 02:30 PM

Please Take The Survey! It takes less than a few minutes and we need as many participants as possible!

It's the time of year again where DigitalAndBroadband.com is asking for volunteers from all over the country to provide information about their Cable, Satellite, Telephone and/or Internet Service Provder(s). This is an all-out all-volunteer effort, and while it only takes a few minutes, those few minutes are critical to making this service work, so please share your input today!

DigitalAndBroadband.com offers free information to the public about consumer satisfaction with their service providers. With roots in Texas, DigitalAndBroadband now provides information on many more companies, covering Cable, Telcos and more all around the country now. DigitalAndBroadband.com is volunteer-run with expenses covered by private donations and advertising revenue, only!

Also, just this year we have added outstanding resources for national and Texas-focused news. Plus now also real "news-you-can-use" specific to Employment, Education, Sports, Travel, Movies, Kids, Health, Science, Technology, Environment, Horoscopes, Free Classifieds and more. Post your own free classified at DigitalAndBroadband.com/classifieds in addition to your listing on Backpage.com! Free!

And after taking the survey, stay a while and play or grab some free games as another way for us to say Thank You! Heck, maybe even win some prizes, to boot!

Thank You! And Happy Holidays From Your Neighbors at DigitalAndBroadband.com!

Testimonials

"[Shanti] has a warmth and spirit about her that makes it feel safe and comfortable to open up,
yet her gentle confrontation inspires further growth and exploration.
During our first session, she challenged my unconscious resistance and within 15 minutes I was shedding tears for emotions I was not aware even existed.

“In a mere two sessions with Shanti, I gained more insight and wisdom into my sadness, anger, fear, and love than I had in 10 months of weekly psychotherapy."

- Julia Barker, Master’s Candidate in Psychology, Seattle, WA

*********

"I'm an attorney, and for most of my life I've been skeptical of any sort of counseling or therapy, especially anything that hinted of the 'metaphysical.' But Shanti Mai is different.

I gained more from one session with her than from a dozen sessions with a psychiatrist.

Shanti has the most amazing presence -- radiant and yet grounded. During my session, she immediately saw through the elaborate defenses I've been living behind and lovingly challenged me to embrace my divine self. It was liberating (and a relief!) to realize that I could not hide from her. I feel a bit like a tuning fork: Shanti lovingly 'struck' me, and I'm still vibrating to a note I had never heard in myself before."

- Stephen P., Sacramento, CA

.............

"Shanti Mai was immediately able to help our client connect with and resolve deep-seated fears that were affecting their ability to relax and cooperate.

"Shanti Mai's ability to connect with a person's innermost feelings is exceptional..."

- Dr. Richard Smith, DDS, Eugene, Oregon
