Established Punk Band Seeking Guitarist
Portland based Attack Ships On Fire is looking for a seasoned, professional, serious guitarist. We are very dedicated to what we do and have a lot of fun doing it. Our second CD was released in May and is receiving recognition throughout the country. We gig regularly, 3 to 4 times monthly, and have toured the west coast extensively. We are regulars at the famous Double Down Saloon in Las Vegas, have a practice/recording studio in Beaverton, and we’re looking for the right person to complete our line-up. Serious, like-minded individuals only. No attitude, no drugs, no issues. You can hear a few songs from the album here: www.myspace.com/attackshipsonfire We also have an extremely popular punk rock Britney Spears ‘tribute’ band called Hit Me Baby that we offer as a double bill for bookings. It has been very successful and opened a lot of doors for our all original project. You can hear songs here: www.myspace.com/hitmebabypunk If you’re interested you can get in touch with us via email at info@attackshipsonfire.com • Location: Portland/Beaverton

Classic Rock Band Looking for 16-18 year old electric guitarist and vocalistposted: October 28, 2009, 04:04 PM

We are a starting band with a drummer and bassist, and are located in SW. Our band influences are Led Zeppelin, CCR, AC/DC, The Beatles, The Who, Rush, among other classic rock bands. As stated in the title, we are high school seniors who are searching for similar-aged musicians (16-18 years old) who perform the stated instruments. A guitarist who can also do lead vocals is welcomed, although not a requirement. If you can write music, that would be a plus, although is not a requirement either.
We are looking for those musicians who have around 6 to 18 months of experience on the instrument. For guitarists, a decent knowledge of chords and reading sheet music is a requirement, and all applicants need to be familiar with the works of our band influences/rock genre. If you are going to be in college in the next two years, we are asking that all applicants be within a decent radius of the area (with Portland State as the relative limit for distance away for college students). If you are attending Lewis and Clark, U of P, PCC Sylvania, Reed College or any other local college in the Portland area, you are eligible to apply. To apply, contact us by phone/text Alex at 503-707-6539 or Matt at 503-853-4169. If you prefer e-mail, contact us at bluehairedguitarist@gmail.com. • Location: SW Portland

H1N1??? Come get your Shot of Mercury! Do you love no-frills, straight up rock n’ roll? Maybe with a little shot of metal added in? Do you play guitar? Did Rick Allen drum with both arms in your lifetime? Then, you may be the missing strand of DNA for our band, Shot of Mercury.
We seek a 2nd guitarist. Interested? Check us out at www.shotofmercury.com or www.myspace.com/shotofmercury Respond to this ad if you like what you hear. We practice in SE, but our slacker bass player would love a ride from SW if you live nearby! Jake 503-442-8460 • Location: SE Portland

New project looking for lead guitar player who can solo over reggae/dub, "Queens of the Stone Age" rock, and bluesy chill music. All original music. Must be aware of the song and play both rhythm and leads. We are experienced players and are looking for someone who has had experience recording and playing live. Not looking to take over the world, just want to express music creativity and play 1-2 shows a month. Must be able to rehearse at least 2 times a week. We have 2 rehearsal studios, one in Northeast with a protools rig, one in Southwest Portland for practice only.

I have solo acoustic footage up at www.YouTube.com/CourtingConstantine to view.
I'm 27 years old, and as the header indicates I play the guitar, bass, and sing. I also play the piano/keyboard a bit, the cello, and write original material. I'm seeking to either join or to start a band. Some of my influences are Live, Rise Against, Collective Soul, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Pete Stewart, and Muse. Basically I'm into rock, alternative, and punk. Shoot me an email if you or your band is potentially interested. Thanks! ~Andrew • Location: Portland

We: singer/guitar and drummer. cool guys who simply live music.
smart/melodic/agressive alt rock. several shows under our belt. You: bassist who is not a converted guitarist who can harmonize. Someone who wants to find a home in a band. Not rock as a hobby. We have cycled through 2 unqualified bassists already and are a little vexed at seeing our friends go on tour while wishing someone with some balls would appear. We are very talented and very serious and, well, we take this very seriously. But seriously, being in a great band that has momentum is the only kind of reality we're interested in. What about you.
