Established Punk Band Seeking Guitarist

Portland based Attack Ships On Fire is looking for a seasoned, professional, serious guitarist. We are very dedicated to what we do and have a lot of fun doing it. Our second CD was released in May and is receiving recognition throughout the country. We gig regularly, 3 to 4 times monthly, and have toured the west coast extensively. We are regulars at the famous Double Down Saloon in Las Vegas, have a practice/recording studio in Beaverton, and we’re looking for the right person to complete our line-up. Experienced guitar/vocals, guitar and drums looking for bass. Ideally you bring your own feel and a few original tunes to the band, but if you just want to learn our songs no one will complain.

In a perfect world you have a practice space, but we aren't really expecting that.

Some tunes up on myspace under a previous band name (The Warshers) but with two guitars the band has moved in a louder direction since then. Still some dynamics and acoustic around the edges.

Bass needed for "Latin-punk"

Hey, this excellent drummer and I have been working on creating a hybrid of Latin rhythms, punk energy, and post-punk craziness. I play guitar and yell, and we need bass to fill out the sound. We've recorded a few songs, on which I played bass, which you can hear here:

Think Bad Brains vs. Ruben Blades. Some other influences include Hector Lavoe, Fugazi, 8 y Mas, Explode Into Colors, Sonic Youth, Carlinhos Brown, The Jesus Lizard, PiL, Santana, Willie Colon, Desi Arnaz, Pretty Girls Make Graves, etc.

11 years playing. Lot's of live experience and a lot of experience songwriting. Rock, reggae, jazz, Latin, funk, punk, ska, acoustic/electric. $15 for half an hour once a week. I can give you plenty to practice in half an hour to keep you busy for a week. Why spend $25 on an hour with someone who will just waste half the time talking, when you could waste less time and less money and learn more? I'm in Northeast Portland, but am mobile.

I'm 27 years old, and as the header indicates I play the guitar, bass, and sing. I also play the piano/keyboard a bit, the cello, and write original material. I'm seeking to either join or to start a band. Some of my influences are Live, Rise Against, Collective Soul, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Pete Stewart, and Muse.
